What is sound therapy?
Resounding provides bespoke sound therapy personalised to each client's preference to provide the optimum sounding experience. Sound can be used to focus on relaxation, sound massage, emotional release and also be uplifting and energising.
Sound therapy uses harmonies and rhythms to support well-being, playing Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, drums and percussion instruments to assist with relaxation.
Research has shown that we can have emotional responses to certain harmonies. This can support with release and create a sense of calm and comfort.
Rhythm also harmonizes with our brainwave frequencies. We can encourage brainwave frequencies to slow down and support relaxation through sound. This is referred to as entrainment and occurs naturally when we listen to music and daydream.
The Himalayan singing bowls can be carefully placed on or near to a client to experience the vibration from the sounds. This further supports relaxation and creates a sound massage. Likewise, the drum can resonate and be experienced as a massage when played near to the client.
Sound therapy can be beneficial for relaxation, easing muscle tension and pain, supports clients who are experiencing anxiety and depression, and assist with improving sleep.
Resounding aims to support you holistically and benefit your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
My Sound Journey
Visiting Tibet and Mount Everest was a goal of mine for many years while I was experiencing chronic fatigue. I was drawn to the call of the Himalayan mountains. It felt incredible to finally arrive in 2005 and signified a change in my health and felt like a huge achievement. The trip was my first introduction to Himalayan singing bowls and their beautiful restorative tones. I returned home with a small bowl which was to be the first of many! Over the years I’ve always returned to the singing bowls when I’ve needed to rest or at times of significant life changes. I developed an awareness of the positive effects they produce on my health, pain relief and energy levels.
Training with the British Academy Sound Therapy in 2021 developed my confidence using sound therapeutically and expanded my awareness of the benefits of drums and gongs too. Due to my own health journey I have a keen interest in supporting those with chronic fatigue and long covid. Becoming a Sound Therapist has been so rewarding and I feel privileged to be able to share my passion and enthusiasm for sound therapy with others. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to find our more.
